About Lisa Langell:
Langellphotography.com

"One of the most exciting part of teaching workshops is the moment a concept I’ve taught 'clicks' with a learner! It’s a bell that cannot be 'un-rung,' and thus what has been taught stays with the learner forever. It’s humbling to be a permanent part of another photographer’s journey and craft.

I am Lisa Langell, a multi-award-winning wildlife photographer with an international audience. I am most well known for my signature wildlife images that artfully capture breathtaking, split-second moments. A bird watcher and photographer since the age of eight, and a professional since 2011, I’ve appreciated what nature has offered me since a very early age.

I reside in Scottsdale, Arizona and am passionate about helping others discover the art—and science—of photography. My workshop participants trust me as an instructor because I not only convey knowledge in ways that make it easy-to-understand for participants, I also offer a gentle, sincere, and supportive approach as they enjoy their own journey as budding photographers. I want to strengthen and nurture their skill—and passion—as photographers while I teach.

The purpose of my photography is to create images that evoke both a visual and emotional connection for the viewer, offering not just a photograph—but an intimate experience with nature. Many wildlife photographers want to have images that “look beautiful.” My secret ingredient in my work is that my images not only look beautiful—but feel beautiful. They bring out and capture emotion, not just beauty. I then help learners discover ways to capture more emotion in their own work.

My artwork has earned recognition and awards from the National Wildlife Federation, North American Nature Photographer’s Association, Professional Photographer’s Association, Arizona Highways, and more. It has also been published in several magazines, including Arizona Wildlife Views, Ranger Rick, Phoenix Home and Garden, and more. My work has also been featured in juried galleries, and is hung in dozens of restaurants in several states in as part of a special collaborative project.

Teaching literally hundreds of on-site, live remote webinars, and on-demand (video based) workshops on numerous topics for the past 8-10 years has taught me a great deal about the adult learner. I understand the need for developing content that is engaging, builds on skills, allows time for skill application, and exploration. Adding humor and interaction is also a critical part of the process. Being a humble, caring instructor is extremely important to me and I look forward to helping you in your journey as a photographer!
